Springboard Acrobatic Act (RUSSIA)

Andrei Vasilevich Kovgar - "Honoured Artist of Russia" - has practised competitive freestyle trampoline springing since the age of 6, becoming "Master of Sport", member of the Russian National Team and Champion of Russia Champion (1988), - is the founder of the present springboard acrobatic act, known as “THE KOVGAR TROUPE”.

 

Andrei made his entrance in the world of show business as a professional artist at the age of 21, in 1990. During the years 1990-99, he performed as a principal springer in the CHERNIEWSKI Troupe. With this group he received several awards such as the Gold Medal at the International Circus Festival in Verona, Italy (1992), Golden Lion at the China Wuquiao International Circus Festival in Shijiazhuang, China (1998) and Golden Clown at the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo (1999).

In 2000, Andrei decided to start together with some young talented sportsmen - champions of several national and international competitions in sport and acrobatic gymnastic - a new springboard acrobatic group named THE KOVGAR TROUPE.

The very first appearance of the group was at the NIKULIN MOSCOW CIRCUS in December 2000, connecting with a tour in Japan until October 2001.
